Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know about Red Tongkat Ali, ordering, shipping, preparation, and safety.

About the Product

Red Tongkat Ali refers to Eurycoma longifolia — a native Malaysian tree whose roots have been used in traditional medicine for centuries. The "Red" refers to the reddish bark of this specific variety, considered more potent and rarer than yellow or black varieties. We sell the raw dried root slices — the most natural, unprocessed form available.
No. Most commercial Tongkat Ali products are factory-made extracts — typically 200:1 or 400:1 concentrated powders put into capsules. Our product is the actual raw root — sliced and naturally dried. Traditional users and many herbalists prefer the whole root as it retains the full spectrum of natural compounds in their natural ratios. Nothing is added; nothing is removed.
Yes — the strong bitterness is completely normal and actually considered a sign of quality. If your Tongkat Ali has little or no bitterness, it may be weak, old, or adulterated. The bitterness comes from the naturally occurring compounds in the root. You can add honey or brew it weaker if you find it too intense.
Traditional Boiled Tea: Place 2–3 slices in 500ml–1L of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer gently for 20–30 minutes. Strain and let cool. Drink once or twice daily. You can re-boil the same slices 2–3 times.

Cold Soak: Place 3–4 slices in 1L of cold water overnight. Drink the next morning. Milder and more convenient.

Storage: Brew a large pot and store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Results vary significantly between individuals. Some people notice changes in energy within 1–2 weeks; others need 4–8 weeks of consistent use. Traditional use recommends taking it consistently for at least one month before evaluating. It is not a fast-acting stimulant — it works gradually and naturally.
This depends on how often and how strongly you brew. Using 2–3 slices daily: 500g typically lasts 2–3 months for one person; 1kg lasts 4–6 months. If two people use it, double the consumption estimate.

Safety & Health

Tongkat Ali has a long history of traditional use across Southeast Asia. It is generally considered safe for healthy adults in moderate amounts. We always recommend consulting your physician before starting — especially if you are over 60, take prescription medications, or have any health conditions.
Yes, women can use Tongkat Ali, though typically at lower doses than men. Women over 40 experiencing hormonal changes may find it supportive for energy and vitality. However, women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have hormone-sensitive conditions should NOT use it. Always consult your doctor first.
Possible interactions include blood pressure medications, immunosuppressants, and diabetes medications. People with prostate cancer, hormone-sensitive cancers, heart disease, kidney disease, or liver conditions should consult a doctor before use. Always inform your healthcare provider about any herbal supplements you take.
